I love the game, it's brilliant but can also be one of the most frustrating things in life! Spent eight years at Man Utd, winning the Premiersiph in seven of those, and the Champions League in six of those. It was easy! Bad thing though, I left them, and the game went bad.
Got a Hereford game going too, currently in League One after winning promotion via the play-offs in my first season from League Two.

Yeh i have the game, got it for my birthday back in October...
I am Hereford United of course, spent i think four seasons in League Two however am now in League One, i dont think i will do that well, i have signed no new players since promotion simply because they wont join me...
I think i have to build my reputation in League One before they think about making the trip to Edgar Street....

See i don't enjoy the new football managers or the champ mans. I'm a old skooler and prefer the old 1s, most probably as they were made together by SI Games and Eidos. Where as now they have split and seem to be trying to out do each other to be the best.
I'm currently playing Championship Manager 4, proper old school i guess as you start in 2002/03 season.
I've been playing for a few weeks and into my 6th year
Managerial career so far -:
Hereford United - June 2002 till Febuary 2005
2002/03
League: 6th FA Cup: 4th Round (Sutton Utd, Woking, Carlisle and Spurs) FA Trophy: Semi Final (Colwyn Bay, Sutton Utd, Barnet, Hayes and Doncaster)
Players in: Andy Ferrell (loan from Newcastle 3 months), Rohan Ricketts (season loan from Spurs), Paul Whitfield (from Hull), Tijani Babangida (un-attached), Ivan Hurtado (un-attached), Aaron Webster (Burton p/e), Adam Kerley (Lincoln) and Rob Duffy (Rushden)
Players out: Paul Parry (Millwall 100k), Jamie Pitman (Burton p/e), Ian Wright (Burton 2k), Rob Sawyers (Rochdale 4k) and Richard Teesdale (Aldershot 1k)
I signed all my players for £0 due to Hereford have £0 to spend but due to progression in cup competition, the club netted some cash to help out the finances. 2 star freebies were Tijani Babangida and Ivan Hurtado.
2003/04
League: 1st FA Cup: 3rd round (Telford, Mansfield, Colchester and Man Utd) FA Trophy: Winners (Dover, Scarborough, Chesham, Halifax, Bradford Park Avenue and Northwich) LDV: QF (Bournemouth, Wycombe and QPR)
Players in: Adriano Riglioso (Morecambe), Andy Williams (Bath), Reinier Moor (Exeter), Matt Lee (Gravesend), Richard Lavery (Nuneaton), Jermaine Easter (Hartlepool), Gary Pearson (Darlington), Abdou Sall (Nuneaton), James Robinson (Crewe), Charlie Trout (Lincoln), Gareth Hall (Havant), David McGurk (Darlington), Kyle Lightbourne (un-attached) and Chris Gowan (Port Vale)
Players out: Adam Kerley (Notts County 20k), John Grant (Bradford 15k), Danny Williams (Barnet 2k), Ivan Hurtado (Fulham 450k) and Matt Lee (Shrewsbury 25k)
Having used my scouts, to scout leagues in my previous season some players they recomended were coming to the end of the contracts, so i decided to offer contract and got all my signing this way via Lightbourne who was released and I signed him to boost my attack. I also started to look at bringing in some youth to back up 1st team players. Key signing were Riglioso who created a goal busting partnership with Steve Guinan.
2004/05 League: 13th FA Cup: 3rd (Purfleet, Bath and Portsmouth) League: 3rd (Sheff Utd, Norwich and West Ham) LDV: 2nd (Colchester and Walsall)
Players in (all un-attached): Thomas Heaton, Lee Grant, Carl Tiler, Phil O'Donnell, Keith O'Neil, Tony Capaldi, Dean Smith, Gavin Strachan, Andrei Kanchelskis, Tahar El Khalej, Steven Istead, Les Ferdinand (player/coach), Elvis Hammond, Stephen Gillespie, Stathis Tavlardis, Simon Walton, Martin Woods, Leon Best, Sunday Oliseh, Dennis Wise (player/assistant manager), Kit Symons, Marc Vivien Foe and Shaun Murphy
Players out: James Robinson (Halesowen 1k), Gary Pearson (Forest Green 2k), Chris Gowan (Woking 1k), Kyle Lightbourne (released), Andy Williams (Enfield 10k) and Elvis Hammond (Bristol Rovers 30k)
Carried on the same policy as my title winning season by bringing in a mixture of experience and youth. I also lost Richard O'Kelly who was my assistant for my last 2 seasons who left to become Halesowens Manager. Unfortunately chairman Graham Turner decided he was unhappy with me and sacked me in Febuary and appointed Dennis Wise as new manager with Les Ferdinand his assistant.
Gillingham - Febuary 2005 till March 2005
League: 23rd
Players In (both un-attached): Carlos and Sergio Conceiao
I left after 6 games because I was given the job of saving Gillingham from relegation to Division 3. It started well with 2 wins and 2 draws but my last 2 games were defeats and Gillingham were in too deep and were relegated with Port Vale. I decided it was for the best interest that Gillingham looked for a new guy to bring them back up from Divison 3.
Wimbledon - March 2005 till November 2006
2004/05 League: 9th
Players In: Steve Warden (Reading p/e)
Players Out: Neil Shipperley (Blackpool 200k), David Connolly (Reading 1.4m p/e), Michael McKenzie (Dag & Reg 15k), Matt Walters (Mansfield 20k), Michael Smith (Dag & Reg 2k), Michael Carr (Scunthorpe 40k), Jamie Gray (Bedford 4k), Paul Heald (Leyton Orient 50k) and Jamie Nicholson (Grimsby 10k)
I joined Wimbledon with 5 games left to go after they had sacked there manager. In 3 seasons Wimbledon had dropped from Division 1 to Division 3 and were in financial trouble. When I joined any teams interested in my players could have them for a fee without me having a say.
2005/06 League: 1st FA Cup: 3rd Round (Stockport, Torquay and Bolton) League Cup: 4th Round (Hayes, Wigan, Barnsley and Middlesborough) LDV Trophy: Runners Up (Gravesend, QPR, Leyton Orient, Gillingham and Sheffield Utd)
Players In (all un-attached): Paul Lambert, Gareth Farrelly, David Seaman (player/coach), Paul Ince, Steve Guinan, Shaun Newton, Martin Keown (Player/Coach), Izale McLeod, Adriano Riglioso, Fan Zhiyi, Paul Okon, Tony Vidmar, Neil Lennon, Paul Shaw, Anthony Barness, Marcus Gayle, Kasper Schmeichal, Frank De Boer and Nourredine Naybet Players Out:
Wimbledon moved into a new stadium at the start of the season and with results going our way, the club finances eased.
2006/07 League: 17th FA Cup: 2nd Round (Notts County and Chester) League Cup: 2nd (Peterborough and Spurs) LDV Trophy: 1st (Plymouth)
Players In (all un-attached): Emmanuel Petit, Gerry Taggart, Chris Perry, Alan Stubbs, Kenny Cunningham, Tijani Babangida, Jari Litmanen, Brian McBride and Alvaro Recoba Players Out: Paul Shaw (Folkestone 14k), Anthony Barness (Bristol City 25k), Fan Zhiyi (Zhongyuan, 2k), Wayne Gray (Swansea 30k)
During pre season I had to once again dive into the free market to replace my ex premiership oldies who had retired. Life in Division 2 started well with Dons up in top half of the table but a dire run from the end of september saw us crash out of all competition as well as not winning a game. The final straw from the chairman came after we were hammed 4-0 by Bradford and slipped down to 17th
Swansea - December 2006 - On Going
2006/07 League: 10th FA Cup: 3rd Round (Charlton)
Players In:
Players Out: Jamie Woods (Bury 20k), James Thomas (Wrexham 40k), Paul Osbourne (Blackpool 50k) and Liam Eves (Accrington 2k)
I took over at Swansea, a club lying in 20th and not in good shape. I turned things around and started to rebuild a club similar to my previous team at Wimbledon. Unfortunately I could not bring anybody before transfer deadline and due to yet again a club with no money, they had to sell. From March onwards I was in pretty bad shape in way of team with only a squad of 15 full time players and rest were people the game give you who are "p/t and not really players" but we still picked up results and finished in top half.
2007/08
League: 1st FA Cup: 4th League Cup: 3rd LDV Vans: Winner
Players In (un-attached): Jermaine Easter, Nigel Martyn, Darren Moore, Steve Howey, Samuel Eto'O, Reinier Moor, Paul Bosvelt, Mark Kennedy, Christian Daily, Chris Bart-Williams, Danny Milosevic, Kevin Kyle, Tomasz Radzinski, Henrik Larsson and Frank Sinclair
Players Out: Matt Wright (Stevenage 2k), Neil Sharp (Canvey Island 1k), Terry Evans (Swindon 3k), Clint Davies (Barnet 20k), Lee Jenkins (Brentford 15k), Ben Wright (West Brom 250k), Charlie MacDonald (Scunthorpe 20k), Ty Gooden (Canvey 3k), Jamie Doyle (Port Vale 20k), Andy Sambrook (Scunthorpe 20k) and Wayne Gray (Southend 25k)
I once again dived into the free transfer and grabbed some bargains. Eto'O was my biggest scoup and he formed an amazing strike partnership with Kyle. Eto'O grabbed 49 goals!!!!! and Kyle got 32! Larsson got 6, Radzinski 16 and easter and moor grabbed others. We lost 3 games in the league all season, drew 10 and won rest. The team scored 174 goals.

Any good players anyone has found on the game? My best discoveries are Francesco Bergamo DL who plays for Wohlen and Dmitry Sychev ST but i forget who he plays for. Buy them, especially Bergamo, you can sign him straight off as he is young.
